The Big Strathie Bike Ride

Hillfoots - Tillycoultry - 65.0 Miles

Wooden Cock AKA Whitewash joined James May and Road Runner for the first league match trip.

Captain Slow determined that another 5:00am start was required so that showers and beer could be had prior to kick off.  First stop was the Murroes village hall for a quick smoke and photo then it was into Dundee and over the Tay Bridge and into Fife for a well earned breakfast stop at Greggs The Bakers in Cupar.

It was then off to Auchtermuchty where we were welcomed by some naughty nurse uniforms hanging up to dry leading to some conversation and thoughts of who might wear them and if she could ease the stiffness in Wooden Cock's shoulders.

Next came The Inn At Muckhart for a fine pint of Devon Thick Black Ale which did not last to long but was just enough to reignite Captain Slow's engine for the final 4 miles into Tillycoultry

This week there were two winners of the 50/50 Matt Hannay of St Andrews Uni and Agie Phillips from Forfar who correctly geussed at 65.0 Miles.  To learn more and enter next Sunday's Carnoustie 50/50 CLICK HERE.

The monies raised will be split between the Everyman Charity and the club where the money will go directly towards an extension to the clubhouse benefiting both the juniors, seniors and all who come who come along to watch the matches and support the club.

Everyman is a campaign that was launched by The Institute of Cancer Research in 1997.  Everyman's mission is to stamp out testicular and prostate cancer, more can be found out by clicking on their logo.

We aim to have a variety of sponsorship opportunities through the season.  There will be a book behind the bar where a donation and an overall season accumulator competition can be entered.  A separate match 50/50 book will be available the week before all the away matches where you can guess the distance travelled for £1.

All club members and supporters are more than welcome to join in any of the rides, we are also looking for volunteers to assist with transport and back up.
