Corporal Jones

Ready for the off! L-R - Major Disaster, Corporal Jones, Wooden Cock, Beyonce and Captain Slow

Captain Slow and Corporal Jones head to Dundee

After the match 5-33 victory and 26.8 miles

The Big Strathie Bike Ride

Harris Acd FP's 26.8 Miles

A leisurely late start at 11:00am saw the return of Corporal Jones (Raymond Moug) and Beyonce (Dave Cashley) to the fold.

First stop was the Outdoor Store to get Beyonce's bike fixed giving Captain Slow time for another cancer stick before heading cross country via the roads, Wigg Street, Kellas and Bridge of Duntrune three new venues on route to Dundee.  It was pretty traffic free though and the warming sunshine certainly helped.

Beyonce's bike was still making funny noises so he headed off to a friends to try and get it fixed and Wooden Cock aka Corporal Punishment, for good reason, came up with a route to Harris  via the Brackens and Clatto Country Park which was not to the captains liking - nice big long hill in the sunshine!

We arrived at Harris an hour early and with Jonesy needing fed decided to head for lunch - all except  the Captain, who at the thought of heading down Glamis Road or rather coming back up Glamis Road decided to stay put!  In the end we headed for the Beafeater by the Airport on Riverside Drive for a couple of pints and food.  The hill back up wasn't to bad and we arrived just in time for Kick Off.

There was only one winner of this weeks 50/50 Dave Brown making it a hat trick of wins this year picking up £5 guessing closest at 26 Miles.  To learn more and enter the next 50/50 CLICK HERE.

Next up is Glenrothes on the 23rd, if you would like to join us please get in touch with us by clicking here.

The monies raised will be split between the Everyman Charity and the club where the money will go directly towards an extension to the clubhouse benefiting both the juniors, seniors and all who come who come along to watch the matches and support the club.

Everyman is a campaign that was launched by The Institute of Cancer Research in 1997.  Everyman's mission is to stamp out testicular and prostate cancer, more can be found out by clicking on their logo.

We aim to have a variety of sponsorship opportunities through the season.  There will be a book behind the bar where a donation and an overall season accumulator competition can be entered.  A separate match 50/50 book will be available the week before all the away matches where you can guess the distance travelled for £1.

All club members and supporters are more than welcome to join in any of the rides, we are also looking for volunteers to assist with transport and back up.
