The Big Strathie Bike Ride
Mackie Acd Fp's - Stonehaven 44.4 Miles
Six cyclists got together for a relaxed
finale to the season with a sun drenched
trip to Stonehaven. This was the first
trip for Beyonce's 12 year old son Private Pike
(Adam) who, with his dad, was the to
arrive at the harbour. Captain Slow was
joined by the Major, Corporal Jones and Wooden
Cock.
With a strong headwind Jonsey suggested a
shortcut so it was off to Brechin via Aberlemo,
the pubs were shut but a nice lady gave us £2
for our troubles.
When we got to Edzell the sunshine was
getting warm
but to the horror of the Captain the Ice Ceram
Shop was shut so with a huff and a puff on a
cancer stick it was decided the next break would
be the wee shop at Fettercairn.
After a few Macaroni Pies, bags of crisps and
some fizzy pop the
ever health conscious group (a banana was also
seen) were heading for
steep climb through Auchenblae but with no
welcoming committee at the top it was onwards to
Stonehaven for the Captain, it was three long
grinding hills later before the group took a
break allowing for everybody to catch before the
descent to Stonehaven and the welcome of the
Ship Inn at the harbour.
We had an hour and a quarter to soak up some
sunshine, lunch and a light refreshment, we were
also joined by a travelling black support who
cheered us on our way when it was time to pedal
up the hill to the ground.

the juniors, seniors and all who come who come along to watch the
matches and support the club.
Everyman is a campaign that was launched by The Institute of Cancer
Research in 1997. Everyman's mission is to stamp out testicular
and prostate cancer, more can be found out by clicking on their logo.
We aim to have a variety of sponsorship opportunities through the
season. There will be a book behind the bar where a donation and
an overall season accumulator competition can be entered. A
separate match 50/50 book will be available the week before all the away
matches where you can guess the distance travelled for £1.
All club members and supporters are more than welcome to join in any of the
rides, we are also looking for volunteers to assist with transport and
back up.
